Amalgamated Holdings Limited is one of Australia's premier entertainment, hospitality, and tourism and leisure companies.
Its three main operating brands are Greater Union Cinemas, Rydges Hotels and Resorts and the Thredbo Alpine Resort. Through these divisions AHL operates either directly or through joint ventures, cinema exhibition in every mainland capital city owns, leases or manages over 30 hotels in Australia, New Zealand and the UAE, and owns and operates the Thredbo Alpine Resort. The Group also owns and operates a western Sydney wildlife park.
AHL's technology interests include the largest film-processing laboratory in Australia and the design, manufacture and installation of film processing equipment.
AHL is at present exporting its knowledge and skills to Europe and the Middle East through cinema joint ventures with local partners and hotel management contracts.
